India too introduces passenger profiling

India introduced (APIS) Advanced Passenger Information System, silently sometime in July. This currently only exists for international passengers flying into Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. Eventually it will be expanded into other International airports in India.

What this is that the airlines flying into India have to furnish details like complete name, date of birth, nationality, sex, passport number, country where passport was issued, country of permanent residence and visa of all the passengers before the aircraft lands in India.

For more on this check out Times of India.
