I took Chicago as the base city and looked for tweets within 600 miles radius from Chicago.

AIG Campaign Contributions - Google Mapping Top 100 Recipients

The Outrage over AIG bonuses continue and now bunch of media outlets have published names of politicians who have received campaign contributions from AIG. One of the sites I looked at was Opensecrets.org.

So I have taken the data from opensecrets.org and mapped it out on Google Maps. The map shows home locations of politicians who have received campaign contributions. Majority are concentrated in the North East.

(Note: Thanks to Keir Clarke of Google Maps Mania for mentioning this mashup in his blog)

AIG Bonus Outrage (Tweets) in America!!

There is a lot of talk currently on Twitter related to the outrageous bonuses given to AIG execs with the taxpayer money. I decided to look at twitter for tweets related to AIG. I took this information from Twitter along with User's location and mapped it out on Google Maps.

There are two buttons at the top left corner of the map which are labeled "Eastern Untied States" and "Western United States". The map defaults to "Eastern". If you click on "Eastern United States" button then tweets are shown from within 1500 miles radius of "Cincinnati, Ohio". If you click on "Western United States" button then tweets are shown from within 1500 miles radius of "Los Angeles".

The World's most Dangerous Airports

I bumped into a site called oddee.com which lists the world's most dangerous airports. I have taken this list along with videos from YouTube and created a Google Maps Mashup. Take a look at the 747 landing at Princess Juliana International airport (St. Martin). Wow!
