World's most expensive home priced at $155 million

The world's most expensive home with a price tag of $155 million will be built by Timber and real estate baron Tim Blixseth at Yellowstone Club, the members-only, Blixseth-developed residential ski and golf resort near Bozeman, Montana. (Google Maps Satellite view)

Quote from Forbes:
The 10-bedroom Blixseth mansion will sit on 160 acres and come with a private gondola-like chairlift that will whisk residents up to the Yellowstone Club’s private ski slopes. There will also be an indoor/outdoor swimming pool separated by a glass wall that can slide away on warm summer days, as well as a home movie theater--practically a standard feature in super high-end homes. The home will come furnished.
“When someone writes that kind of check, they don’t want to have to worry about knives, forks and spoons,” says Blixseth. “The wine cellar should be stocked.”

CNN is reporting
The Arctic town of Kiruna (Google Maps View), Sweden's northernmost municipality, is under threat as cracks caused by decades of iron ore mining slowly erode its foundations.

So two years ago the municipal council decided to move more than half of the town from the shadow of Kiirunavaara mountain, site of the world's largest underground mine.

This month it chose the new site for Kiruna's centre, at the base of Luossavaara mountain, about 4 km (2.5 miles) away.

Tower of London to have first female Yeoman Warder

Tower of London for the 1st time in 500 years will have a female "Beefeater". Moira Cameron, 42, beat five men to the prestigious position and became the first female ever appointed to the famous ceremonial guard.

The warders, who wear blue and red uniforms and are the subject of countless tourist photos, are known colloquially as Beefeaters because of the rations of meat they were given during medieval times.

Google No.1 Company to work for - Fortune

Fortune magazine is reporting Google to be the No.1 Company to work for.

Google Maps view of Googleplex, Moutainview, California.

Perks of being a Googler (Quoting Fortune)
At Google it always comes back to the food. Google runs 11 free gourmet cafeterias at its Mountain View, Calif., headquarters, and offers all its employees free gourmet meals.

In addition to its cafés, Google has snack rooms which contain various cereals, candy, nuts, yogurt, carrots, fresh fruit and other snacks, and dozens of different drinks including soda and make-your-own cappuccino. Says co-founder Sergey Brin: "The cafés have always been pretty healthy, but the snacks are not, and the efforts to fix that have been remarkably challenging." Though company lore has it that Brin and co-founder Larry Page believe no worker should be more than 150 feet from a food source, clearly not all food is equal. "A lot of people like their M&Ms. But the easy access is actually what's bad for them," he says.

Of course, when it comes to America's new Best Company to Work For, the food is, well, just the appetizer.
